Chinese New Year holds a special place in my heart as it is the one time of the year that truly signifies tradition, family and togetherness.

I make it a point never to travel during this period and to always be around to help my mother with her celebrations. It is possibly the only time, other than birthday dinners for the elders, that all of our family members, distant or close, come together.
