Political will, stable governments and strong economies are the ingredients necessary for Asean to deliver a sound bid and convince Fifa it can host the 2034 World Cup, experts told The Sunday Times.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced last Sunday at the Asean Summit in Bangkok that South-east Asian countries will jointly bid to stage football’s biggest tournament 15 years from now.
