The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that when medical certificates are generated electronically, doctors must be responsible and that there are security protocols to prevent fraudulent issuance of the certificates.
“The issuance of a medical certificate by a doctor, whether it is in a paper or an electronic format, carries with it the responsibility to ensure that the patient requires it on sound medical grounds and that such grounds have been arrived at after good clinical assessment,” it added.
