The target was Pakistani asylum seekers from a persecuted minority Muslim group living in Sri Lanka as refugees.

But as the gang of men, reportedly Christians, stomped around in Negombo demanding revenge for the Easter Sunday attacks that targeted churches in the country, including one in their city, fear also struck the Muslim community in Sri Lanka.
